IF your tune is knock limited anywhere in the rev range, higher octane MIGHT let you build more boost earlier, not not pull boost as much when it initially spikes up, but there is no more energy-per-volume of fuel injected, the benefit is that you can have more boost and more timing.
If you aren't knock limited anywhere, you will likely see no benefit.
Old cars, like my C900, that have 'dumb' boost control and mixture control may benefit from octane boosters, because with the fixed timing control I may be able to fudge it around and actually dial the car in to take better advantage of more octane, but with your Viggen adjusting itself all the time it's hard to say.
5hp doesn't sound unreasonable, but I doubt whether you'd be able to measure that much difference.
