I put a SPEC Stage 2 in my CS at 135k a few years ago. Yes, you do have to fully press the pedal to the floor to disengage. This was something I had always done anyway, so I didn't really notice much. Also, the pedal is definitely heavier, which I expected. I also did master, slave, clutch line, when the install was done, along with replacing synchros on 2nd & 3rd. The issue I had was not being able to shift down to 4th or 3rd when I had previously been accelerating hard. This is more of a track driving situation that would not normally happen on the road. I was convinced that I had a bad slave cylinder, and changed that out for another new one, and still didn't help much. Finally, everything came out again when the engine blew at 155k. After it was all put back together that time, it's finally much better. I don't know what the issue is, and my Indy, who did all the work, never could figure it out either. I am very happy with how the SPEC holds all the power & torque, and I would buy another one. I do know that Nick Taliaferro was having issues with them and stopped selling them.
