Crazy saab engine swap idea - looking for advice

In addition to my 2000 9-3, my other toy is a 1970 MGB GT. I just rebuilt the engine in the MG and while going through the process I kept thinking to myself what a fun car it would be with a B204/234 engine in it.
There are places in the UK selling bellhousings to adapt Saab engines to a variety of RWD transmissions, so I think that part is straightforward. The stock NG900 oil pan is almost perfect. So I started taking some other measurements and I see two sticking points related to squeezing the engine in:
1) Turbo placement. The stock 9-3/NG900 exhaust manifold puts the turbo fairly low and toward the flywheel side of the engine. I need some way to raise the turbo and move it forward. The GS top-mount turbo manifold would solve this problem, and I think a 9000 exhaust manifold, maybe with the turbo flipped, might get close.
Question: Are there other bolt-on exhaust manifold choices for the B2x4 heads?
2) Alternator location. The alternator as mounted would be a good ways into the wheel well. The A/C compressor will be gone, and I'll have to figure out some kind of idler in place of the P/S pump.
Question: Anybody have any bright ideas about where to mount the alternator, higher on the engine? I might have room to flip it around and mount it facing the engine, if I can get the direction of rotation right.
Thanks for any thoughts you might have.
