"Hi guys,
The car is '05 9-5 with GT17 turbo.
Since the car already marked 150k mi, I'm looking the option for the next turbocharger, plus do some significant performance mod at the same time.
Question, selection : "Garrett GT28R vs. TD04-15T from Aero."
I know TD04-15T is very renowned for its durability, however GT28R new unit should last for some 100k mi+.
My goal is around 300hp at crank, which one should I select?
Also since I'm on Garrett platform (GT17) already, would GT28R easier for fitting?
TIA guys!
CE"
Hi, first of all, ignore this Jas guy. His post contains a lot of inaccurate information. The td04 is probably the best turbo for 300 hp. Since they came stock on some models, you can find them very cheap. Additionally, you can find new lines available as a kit on ebay.
Buying a cheaper turbo will leave you with more cash for other upgrades like a FMIC and exhaust. You'll need both for 300 bhp and maybe even an upgraded clutch too! Check out this link as a quide of what is needed for 300 bhp on your car:

BTW, try not to use "vs" in any of your posts. It seems to always attract the weirdos looking to start a pissing match!
Regards,
John
