Just my 2 cents on T5... In the short term, yes it is more work (although the conversion can be done in a day). But with all the parts, tuning, fiddling, that the stock LH system requires, I definitely feel that in the long term T5 is smart choice. This is of course if you are not looking to keep the car's wiring stock. But if you're wanting to make power, gain response, and tune ability, there is nothing better than Trionic 5.
I have done a c900 both ways FWIW. I had an 85 SPG years ago that I did lots of upgrades to, APC, Jak's fuel chip, injectors, exhaust, turbo.... And the car was lots of fun, and fairly reliable. But it never idled right. Now on my newer 85 turbo, I had to do something because of a rotted wiring harness. I worked with Mike D and we did the swap to T5 in 1 day. The car is dead reliable, I've done ~8000 miles without a single issue. Drivability is great, mileage is good, and if I ever want to change anything with the tuning it's just a matter of hooking a laptop the car. Pretty cool to have a nearly 30 year old car that runs like a 5 year old one! My only gripe is that a lot of the benefits of T5 come from timing, and the 85 head doesn't like too much timing and pings like mad. So for now we've kept the tuning very conservative until I can get a 2.1 head on there.
