Idle Too High on '93 900T Posted by S Burnell [Email] (#1344) [Profile/Gallery] (more from S Burnell) on Tue, 30 Jul 2013 16:01:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
1993 900T Convertible - idles too high since replacing the stock 2.0 L head with a flowed 2.1 L head. Also changed to the 2.1 L intake manifold and fuel rail. Installed new O2 sensor, injectors, a rising rate fuel pressure regulator (RRFPR) and a tweaked turbo. When cold, it idles at 1000 RPM, but once it warms up idle averages about 1500 (±100) RPM. Idle now goes down when AC compressor is turned on. Had to replace a couple of old wiring connectors for throttle position sensor and distributor - could it be that any of the wiring connections were inadvertently changed? If so, what should I look for?
Checked for vacuum leaks but haven't located any. So far, I've cancelled the adaptive memory and tried different settings on the RRFPR (now at 30 psi), replaced the AIC motor and temperature sending unit with new parts and have swapped out the APC box and LH 2.4 with working units, but still no change. I'm out of ideas on how to solve this problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
