16" 9000 Aero Wheels for a 91 SPG. Yes or No? Posted by Carraig Dhubh [Email] (#176) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Carraig Dhubh) on Tue, 22 Jul 2014 23:54:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I bought a Beryl Green 91 SPG for the purpose of completely restoring and/or upgrading and/or modifying the car ( inside is largely restoration of stock pieces and parts or upgrading the interior with wood and all new leather, under the hood is a significant modification project and body wise, the car will be finished off with new paint for whole body) . The chap undertaking nearly all the work has suggested I top off the project by switching to the above wheels from my stock SPG rims which are on it at the moment. This would be for the "look" he said but also for better grip to support the power being laid down as result of the mods ( maybe up to 275 HP ) What do people think? I have a line on a few sets that might not be perfect so might not match standard of the rest of work on car and have been told they are hard to come by apparently, so if anyone has a line on a very good to excellent set I would appreciate that so can take a look. Also, would you go for the " Super Aero" wheels ( as I have heard them called ) which are monochrome from later years of 9000 or the two tone ones for the Aero of earlier years ( may have got them round wrong way in terms of which was mono v two tone ). Opinions gratefully received.
