Excessive Fuel Problem Posted by Shaun [Email] (#683) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Shaun) on Mon, 13 Aug 2001 12:37:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Had been driving car for about 3500 miles with no problems. Then all of a sudden I'm driving down the interstate and it gets to coughing, spitting and backfiring. A/F ratio gauge was pegged max rich. Was able to drive home in 4th gear....so long as air flow was up, car would run but not all that good.
I had in the shop and they found the Hall Effects connection was bad. They fixed and after a test drive everything seemed ok, except that it wasn't running as strong as before. They had checked Fuel Pressure and coolant temp control and they were fine.
Driving home, does the same thing.
So...I figure a methodical systems check. I'm thinking that I need to check: AMM, turbo pipe connections (air leak), TPS. What else??? this just started happening for no apparent reason. Well, there is a reason and I don't know what it is.
Thanks.
Shaun
