very expensive repairs ...the book is about 20hrs for a clutch job ... took me 30+ on my old 924T. 944 w-pump job is about $1000 at a shop.
nice track car, rear trans weight (924+944) helps make it very forgiving when driven at high speed .... gets loose is slow motion, and easy to correct.
the turbo has a lot of lag for normal driving, the 944S (16V-na) had too tall gearing.
the basic 944 is one of the most fun cars I've drive .. the similar 924S is actually lighter and a bit faster, with better gearing.
I think there was a rare 2.7L version of the 944 for about 1/2 year.
