so, after discussing my idea for an air intake upgrade with a VW racing specialist, i was told that there is a LOSS of about 4-9 Horse power with performance cone filters. the reason, i am not sure. but he showed us some dyno performance data sheets that showed a loss of max-end-horse-power with the new filters as opposed to the stock air intake. however, there is a noticable faster trottle response and the performance filters to last over 100,000 miles, but in the long run the performance filters are a bit over rated. -any other thoughts on this? ideas? -js
