Ubipa is right, it's kind of a pain getting the stock springs out. But it is doable with strut spring compressors. The difference between them and SPG springs, depending on the year, is between 71 and 87 mm. In 1985 there was no difference, all 900s used stock springs.
If you want a serious drop and a lot of improvement in ride/handling, go aftermarket. I chose Intrax and have been very happy with them. The car sits level now and exhibits virtually no liftoff or body roll any more. It was about a 1.75-2" drop all around.
