Thanks everyone for guiding me through removing airbox restrictions, descreening MAF, doing 1/4 turn tightening APC F,P potentiometers and tightening the screw on the fuel pump cutoff switch. This free package really improves throttle response, reduces turbo lag and gives a couple pounds more boost. The boost guage needle goes 1/4" or so into the red zone, while previously the needle would stop just before the red zone.
Gosh, now when I think of the possibilities of bigger injectors, modified APC boxes, rising-rate pressure regulators, its a challenge thinking of which way to go. I'd say the car is now at the limits of the stock fuel system and this needs to be addressed before going further.
I like the idea of keeping the fuel pressure near stock and going with bigger injectors, but then there's the issue of part-throttle driveability which to me is very important.
If I go with bigger injectors, would 24lbs injectors w/adj. rising rate regulator be the best compromise? 200whp is the goal, and I want to do it without resorting to 80-90psi fuel pressure and without having to put up with subpar driveability.
If 24lbs injectors is cutting it close, has anyone used 30lbs injectors and maintained stock part-throttle driveability by only adjusting the potentiometer on the mass-airflow sensor?
Thanks in advance,
Keith.
