Sorry but that's what your post reminds me of. lol "no no, don't sail off into the Horizon. You will fall off the edge of the earth! No one has gone past there before and returned!" ;-)

I *DO* know better that's why the APC is shit canned. I've got a lot of turbo cars under my belt, one put down 409 WHEEL HP on the STOCK non turbo 9.5:1 longblock with 24.5psi of boost, run for three race seasons and no signs of slowing down...the car has over 50K of this kind of abuse on it, over 150 drag passes, multiple "track days" on the road course, countless street beating etc etc and not even one melted spark plug. Not one broken part.

The other project was a 694 WHEEL HP Supra on the stock longblock with over 90K on it. Car is also on it's third season without one single engine problem. (The trans and diff was another story. :-D )

The APC is an antiquated device that sacrifices optimum tune for ulitmate saftey, even when the safety is not warranted. ( IE relying on an unpredictable piezzo electric knock sensor as mentioned by others in this thread etc)

Be sure to run good fuel, READ YOUR PLUGS, measure your EGT, feel and listen for detonation (Which you should not have as long as your car is tuned and fueled properly) and just drive it.

To say that without the APC the car will blow up is like saying the world is flat. Saab went overboard on the safety measures, and understanbly so considering they want to get over 200K out of these cars and have to take into account dumb people will put in 87 octane, run up a 5% grade, at 3000rpm, full throttle.

The APC is for them. :-) Best mod I have done to this Saab to date was to can it.

The manual boost contoller is actually *more* consistent than the APC. Sorry but it is. The boost goes to 16psi and in about 1-2 seconds settles in at 14psi everytime. Perfect for what I want. I don't have a "bleed" valve either, I have a check ball type that doesn't bleed off boost to fool the wastgate.
