Vince,

I have a longish letter coming to you soon, just bear with me, will probably send it by Friday night, mostly rants and raves, but if you pick through it, there might be some useful info. Hope you haven't chosen your CR yet.

85# Holly injectors, my resistor pack is epoxied right behind where the power steering reservoir would go, if I had one.

Idle is good, it will idle at 500 rpm@17"Hg, but I prefer 750-1000 rpm@21"Hg. I started with 30#, then 41#, believe me neither is enough. I haven't even looked at duty cycle since going to the 85#'s. I also ended up running heavier gauge wire to the fuel pump, both power and ground and soldered the connections to the pump.

I wouldn't go less than 55# and I suggest 65+#, although I think the better answer is 8 30#'s with the staged option. I got a deal on the 85#'s, but really wanted 65-75#. Keep in mind that RC engineering rates all of theirs at 3 Bar.

Option Suggestions:

Hybrid TPS, especially if you do go to a low CR. I feel this option may be useful anyway, but haven't asked Ross if it can be bypassed if not needed. This wasn't available when I bought mine, so I really haven't checked it out. Free if ordered with the system.

Electric fan switch, $30, also not available when I got mine, they say the progamming isn't user friendly, but it has to be more reliable than the stock stuff.

Supercharger relay control, I have asked Ross about this one, it can be set for any MAP value and could be useful for lots of things, boost control, etc. Another $30, it adds up fast.

3 BAR MAP Sensor, started with the 2 BAR but it wasn't enough for the stock turbo. I think that I might be happy with it now, since I am only running 12psi with the hybrid. I've found the 3 BAR easier to program, so I haven't change back.

Knock sensor, I have it, but have never even hooked it up. I didn't order the sensor, because I have assess to used GM sensors, I think they will screw right into the stock hole. Detonation hasn't been an issue, just change the program, but it's nice to have the option.

Fuel pump relay, but you don't need the relay from SDS if they will shave some money off. I wired right into the stock relay.

RPM switch, got it, but not in use yet.

Fast idle,$70, didn't get it, but wish I had it. Made my own with a junkyard solenoid, but wish it was controlled automatically. I figure you could save $40 if ordered without the solenoid. You can get a solenoid for free from many junkers, other than SAABs. You can use the same one, or another set differently for the A/C, if you have it, this can be wired right to the A/C relay whether you get the fast idle option or not.

I got the Bosch sensors, engine temp is same as our NTC, maybe you could save a few dollars here too.

This is all that I can think of right now, pick through my letter after you get it, we'll talk, if you want.

Roger
