Hi !
Ideal theoretical complete combustion takes place at an A/F (mass)ratio of 14.7:1.
Or in other words, about 9500 l of air to 1 l gasoline.
(something to thning about when designing an airintake system)
The lambda value is 1.00 at stoichiometric A/F.
Lambda less then 1.00 = rich = A/F less then 14.7:1
Lambda more then 1.00 = lean = A/F more then 14.7:1
Lambda can be calculated by using the following formula: lambda=actual A/F-ratio / 14.7
And then, the next question, maps.....
The problem is, without knowing the exact specs, it´s quite hard to give any ideas about ignition timing and fuel.
I´ll guess that the secret is to get ignition timing perfect.
And, here is the problem a (perfect)ignition map from one engine may destroy another engine.
When calibrating ign.timing, try to run at as advanced timing as possible, without knocking, this will give you best efficency and lowest exhaust temp.
But remember, it´s a combination between ign.timing and fuel A/F.
So, if one map is changed (fuel A/F) the the other (ign.timing) may need some adjustments.
Begin carefully at idle, look at lambda, exhaust temp, and knocking.
Then, try low loads....
When you feel that you are "ready" try higher loads.
And, after that, you´ve got to ask yourself a question.....
-Do I feel lucky ?
Well, Do you.....?
If the answer is yes, try WOT.
Just remember that an engine can be ruined in a fraction of a second.....
Good Luck !
