One thing I've been thinking about lately would be to use the JT downpipe then go to a highflow cat. Next use a cutout and run a side pipe to the rear tire. Then use a reducer and go back to the stock resonator and the rest of the system. This might only cost you a few hundred dollars, give you wide open performance when you open the cutout and sleeper image when it's closed. You can get 3" cutouts that are remotely opened, so you can open it up on the fly. If I didn't install a full 3" system, I would have done this and I might still do it if $$ are willing. Of courese you could do it differently, they even sell smart cutouts that open at WOT or full boost. Might skip the cat to save some money...
