But, I tell myself this when I feel the way you do. If I continue with this project, it's because I must. You see, once you taken these things so far you can not simply turn and go the other way, or you'll lose big time. I have like you done alot of work to my car, and within the last 1.5 yrs have put at least $4,000+ into my 1988 9000T Airflow. At this point though, I can say that most of the items that would need attention have had it. If you gonna do these kinds of projects, you can believe they will be expensive before opening the wallet for the very first time, that's just how it is. Sometimes when I come across those older muscle cars that are in better shape now than they were 30+ yrs ago, I stop and appreciate how huch has probably went into build/restoring that thing. If you stop and speak to the owners of them, you soon realize they didn't accomplish all that in one year, perhaps over a period of years and that's the commitment it takes. The amount of money spent isn't really a factor cause you'll almost always put in more than you'll get out(for most cars that is true)so try not to look at it in those terms. I still think though that in the end you and I along with others who visit this board, will eventually come out on top. What does that mean? If we bought/leased new transportation, we're gonna spend alot of money through payments and insurance over the first 3 years of ownership with those cars. So add up $450 per month over the next 3 years and you'll go over $16,000......OUCH!! That's alot of bread to spend if you asked me. And nearly twice as much easily than what I have in my SAAB including what I paid for it(Did I mention my insurance is only $17 per month)back in 98'. I actually got rid of a 96'VW Jetta GLX model car to own this one and unlike the other car I had, I have yet to get tired of driving/owning my SAAB. I can have my days like the others here when I think my SAAB is the most evil car I've owned cause it wants all I have and then some, but I still continue to smile knowing that I'm building it the way I want it to be(very personalized)and that is something I can't have with a newer car unless I'm spending BIG amounts of cash on top of the BIG payments and Ins. Keep you're SAAB and continue to build upon it, I'm sure it'll come through and make a killer ride soon with a KICKA$$ stereo to boot.
See Ya,
Phil
