You asked about the TD-04 turbo from a Volvo 760 I mounted on my 87 NA motor. The manifold flange is the same. I did have to increase the size of the holes in the turbo and ended up bolting it up without a gasket because of some slight differences[I am sure the 760 Volvo gasket would work]. The outlet of the turbo has a taper like the end of the exaust elbow so that had to be ground off[I decided to try to do this myself I removed the center section and ground it off and finished with a file and the sandpaper and a flat glass block. No gasket/no leaks] Now you have an exaust elbow that is facing nearly straight back so the header pipe had to be modified. this would be an easy job for a muffler shop but I ended up cutting a section from an old turbo tailpipe and welding it in myself.
The oil supply used the existing line with some new bends and the banjo fitting from the volvo line brazed on. I probably could have used a piece of silicone hose and a couple of clamps but didn't want to lose the engine becase of a broken hose.
The drainback tube was easy just welded the first 4 inches of the Volvo tube to a chunk of the Saab tube.
The stock Volvo water lines were cut and re-oriented as needed and I picked up the Stock Saab Water cooling lower rad hose and upper supply line to complete the setup.
The turbo inlet rubber fitting from the Saab was end for ended and the stock Blow off valve hole was plugged because the Volvo turbo has a slick integral blow off valve.
Had to change the crancase vent by removing the preheated tube and replacing it with a 1'2 inch rubber line from the valve cover to the fitting where the APC plugged into the plastic inlet duct. The original hole was plugged.
