I'd like to have your insurance bill! Aren't you still under 20 years old? I couldn't even get the state mandated minimum coverage for $18 a month, here, and I'll be 30 in a couple months! I have a clean record, too.
Right now I have full coverage, though I am considering going to liability only, and I pay about $850 a year, or about $71 a month.
You're spot on about the Civic crowd though. A friend of mine at work is in his early 20s (like 21 or 22), and just bought a brand new Civic SI. Besides the fact that he got reamed on the price of the car itself, which equates to a payment of $300-400 a month, he's paying over $200 a month for insurance. Or, put another way, he pays more for his car than I pay for rent. And, it's only 160 HP. :) Really nice car though, at least it's a hatchback and amazingly roomy, plus has Recaro seats. Civics have come a LONG way..
