increasingly sceptical about c900->9k FMIC

From Abbot Racing's website:(classic 900)
Flow Rate Comparison.

Standard SAAB Intercooler, 105 CFM (Cubic Feet/Minute).
Abbott Racing Chargecooler, 140 CFM (Cubic Feet/Minute).

Both tests carried out at 10in water pressure

(NG 900)
Air Flow Figures: Tested at 10" water pressure.

Standard 900/9-3 unit 80.7 cfm.
Abbott Racing Unit 115.1 cfm.


So the stock 900 IC flows a LOT more than the 900/9-3 item and not ven 10% less than Abbott's super duper all aluminium motorsport version of the 9-3 crossflow IC.
Unfortunately, the site does not list any data for the 9000IC - but the fact that it cam out dead last in another comparison of pressure drop though a variety of widely used IC's does not bode well...

Seeing as how the Eagle Talon IC came off in the latter comparison, converting the c900 core to crossflow operation using custom endtanks, or a custom crossflow IC in the same spot as the stcok one seems the way to go. Remember I have an IC fan plus water injection, so intake temps are properly adressed to anyways.

Anyone care to comment?
