Ok, here is some information about the purple 99T-16:
It was purchased 2 years ago in Sweden, from a famous member of STCS.
During 1999 and 2000, he won virtually every acceleration and slalom
event he went to with this car. In fact, his winning time at the 2000
STCS Ring Knutstorp event, was never beaten until the incredible
11.81 ET run, 3 weeks ago, by an OG900T at Mantorp.
I have since stripped the car for a lot of excess weight, like a heavy
duty factory trailer hitch it had installed! ( >100 lbs ) and bumped
the max boost up from 1.5 to 1.6 bar.
The engine is a 2.0T-16 with the following mods:
B-motor turbo pistons, CR around 7.2:1
2.3L head/2.1L intake
Larger injectors
LH 2.2 with a Saab factory "group A" fuel chip
RRFPR
APC removed (no rev or boost limit).
900T IC with a separate fan
1.6 bar (23 psi) boost from 2800 - 7300 rev limit!
Equal length pulse split header, insulated with asbestos tape
Large turbo compressor, capable of 450 hp
3.5" exhaust after turbo (no cat)
My best ET so far was this spring with 12.5 sec @ 112 mph.
This winter, a rebuilt bottom end (94mm 2165cc) from Sweden is going in.
Time allowing, I will also port the 2.3L head and install a FMIC.
Mikael
