... but getting noisy. Prior to the incident yesterday, the brakes were completely dry. It hasn't rained here in about a week (some rare good British weather). I've had them in almost exactly 9 months. I don't know how many miles they've done in that time, but it must be 10-12K miles. They looked less than half worn. They certainly didn't look contaminated (their faces all looked the same).
Recently (in the last 4-5 months), they have given impressive stopping performance from speed under certain conditions. I only wish I knew what those conditions were, as I could never predict how they would behave. It's almost certainly to do with temperature, but even knowing that, I couldn't always predict how they would perform. That's a pretty scary way to have the brakes.
As I mentioned above, I'll be trying the DS2500 pads, or perhaps I'll still give the 3000s a go. At least they have a proven record.
