I have been running an Abbott ECU for three years and have loved the increase in power. I upgraded to their TD04 turbo kit when my turbo died earlier this summer. I recently got an SQR stage 3 ECU after hearing all the complementary comments and seeing the picture of ERP's boost gauge.
so took my Saab to a dynojet at TAG Motorsport in Torontoto test the Abbott software before installing the SQR. I met the guy at 9AM and my Saab was the first car tested of the day over three runs.
Results were king of disappointing 189 WHP at about 5300 rpm and 209 ft-lbs of torque with a very flat torque curve from 3000-5000 rpm.
Three pulls were done in fourth in about ten minutes. The first run only said 180 whp so I am wondering if the dyno was properly warmed up. The final two runs were virtually identical. TAG Motorsport specializes in drag strip mustangs with 700-1000 HP so maybe the dyno wasn't calibrated correctly?
In spite of the weak numbers the car seems to be running great.
Hopefully I can install the SQR software this week and then head back there is a week or two to repeat the dyno with the SQR software. Next time I will also bring my brother so he can dyno his stock Volvo V70 as a dyno check.
any suggestions as to why my numbers were so low
