Hey all

I was looking at Swedish Dynamics website about their c900 fuel pump upgrades. The stock OEM fuel pumps from SAAB flow 25 GPH at 40 PSI. The SD unit flows 65 GPH at 40 PSI, they claim. The SD unit costs $300.

I went on to Summit Racing to see if they had a pump with similar specs. I searched for a potential universal fuel pump to work as an upgrade for a cheaper price. Here's what I found...

"High pressure, 420 to 870 hp applications, 70 gal/hr., 45 psi, electric fuel pump" (Currently unavailable from Summit, Price unknown)
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=15565

"Accel - Electric, 500 hp applications, 45 psi, fuel pump, good up to 500HP!" (Price $145!)
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=15562

"Vortech - Universal, 50 gph at 70 psi rating, T-Rex fuel pump" (Price $200)
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=23235

I highly doubt Swedish Dynamics engineers their own fuel pumps, they must get them through a source. Could be Summit directly.

Obviously our SAABs will never reach that 500HP mark, just stating that's what the pump is good up to. Also, some metric fittings would be needed.

Either way, could one of those pumps work?

If not any of these pumps, SD has a distributor, if you went through them, it would easily knock $100 off of the $300 price.

What do you think?
Thanks!
Taylor
