The power at the wheels is also affected by the tyre distortion figures during the power run, so the effects do cancel each other out. I have seen many rolling road figures in UK magazines where the calculated figures (using the run down method) are very close to those achived by the same engines in dyno cells.

Losses are also affected by the gear selected as the higher the road speed the higher the at wheel losses will be. The method of measuring will also affect the figures. Some rolling roads attach to the wheel hub, some seem to sit the car on one roller, others drop the car between two rollers. Obviously the last method will produce higher wheel losses than the other two methods.
