The red wire is the power supply, so yes connect to plus power. The purple connects to somthing that comes on with the key.
On the bottom side of the cars fuse,relay panel are two gang connections one has black wires and is a ground. The other has green and white wires they get hot when key is turned on. Connect to one of the unused male spade terminals.
