Use Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) instead. This is a specialty plastic made by Solvay specifically for automotive underhood applications with excellent tolerance of high temperatures, corrosives, oils and fuels. In fact they will be using it for automotive fuel lines in the near future. What kill conventional plastics underhood is heat and exposure to petroleum products, not so much UV deterioration here. The location of the rack, directly behind the engine exposes the bushings to high heat, oils and fuels (God knows Saabs leak). If made of the right material, this could be a non brittling "lifetime" bushing if made of the right material. Check it out;
