My engine at Lesco will use Crower Maxi-Light 94 Series 3. I think Jordan S. also has these rods.
I used Saab-sized large journals and SBC-sized small journals to go with JE forge pistons w/ SBC sized wrist pins. The SBC size is smaller, lighter, and cheaper. Also we pushed the wrist pin upwards in the piston and made the conrod the same amount longer. The longer conrod has some kind of good effect on the combustion or something -- but this is where my knowledge comes to an abrupt halt. The first 2 sets were just over $1000 each but maybe they are cheaper now that they have the specs.
Saab rod, stock w/ hardware: 853gm
Crower rod w/ hardware: 577gm
Weight savings of rods along: 276gm x 4 = 1101gm (2.4lbs)
(split between reciprocating and rotating)
Follow the link to the catalog, then go to page 156 for the details.
