Aftermarket rods/pistons?

Hi there!
I'm building peppy B234 shortblock motor that won't sit in a SAAB body. It's going to be fitted with Garrett GT40 turbo and aggresive cams/solid lifters + ported head. Rev limiter is going to be set @ 7500 RPM initially.
My question is:
How good are original B234LM rods/pistons? I heard that they are very strong, but also very heavy. Having such a big turbocharger, we needs some extra revs. Can we use OEM rods/pistons or should we look for (pricey) aftermarket ones? Did any of you rev to 7500 with boost w/ OEM pieces and sustain rod failure? Just tell me your expirience and acumulated knowledge...
Thanx!
/Goran
