The easiest way to get a supply of cool air to the motor is to
modify the existing air-box. I drilled two 2 inch holes in the
box's cover (in the fender well) using a hole-saw.
One hole was drilled by removing the driver's side parking light
assembly and reaching in with the drill. The second hole was made
by removing the driver's side under-panel.
I use a K&N drop-in in the modified air-box.
This mod results in more, cool, air flow to the turbo.
It aslo makes some nice music, you can hear the "roar"
of the intake system under full throttle and the "hissss" of the
dump valve .
There seems to be more power made by the motor, but
it may be that the added "music" just makes it seem that way.
I have done this mod to both of my 9Ks.
