JT, I do understand all of your conserns. I have a ARC2 on the car I drive. The way I tune is is in conjuction with my data logger. Starting in 3rd gear flull throttle at 1500 pulling to 6000rpm. I review the graph and adjust the three "pots to give me a mixture close to 12.5 at wide open throttle. Normally I start with the high end pot as this effects the entire range the most. The fine tune the middle leaving idle for the last. It works very well that way as under light throttle the curve is cloose enough for the ECU to keep it passing over lamba. Car is a classic 900 1991. The 1990 and newer classic 900's have a larger window of self adjustment than the older cars. This car also has 30# injectors with a tons of one off modifications.
A 300ohm resistor with 30# injectors will bring every thing close if not too heavily modified. The 30# injectors and 300ohm resistor in the air mass meter out put wire is my standard simple power modification.
The ARC2 is not the best method but will work very well when done correctly.
