Your front struts have to be cut at the top and de-burred to remove what's actually the old shock. A hole has to be drilled at the bottom to bolt in the new Koni's. Their instructions show that this can all be done with a hack saw and a hand drill but it's best to do everything in a lathe, especially the bottom so the hole is centered. These shocks were originally designed for the earlier 9000's with 48mm ID struts which the shocks fit just right in but with your later 50mm ID application you use the supplied adapters at the top to center the shock. These little adapter rings have to be carefully installed with the shock as they tend to want to go crooked so you have to tap them straight with a soft hammer as you go. A Saab mechanic shouldn't have any trouble especially if they've done this before. Here's a before and after picture of one of the 50mm sets we've done. http://www.kyankton.net/Suspension.htm Dave
