If you want better filtration with not too much flow restriction, go with the Purolator Pure Ones. If you want better flow with good filtration, then the UK-made ACDelco filters are probably your best value. Currently, ACDelco doesn't offer any UK-made product in the US to fit Saab, but someone (Jason 0W-40?) said the Napa Silvers were made in the UK & appeared to be identical in construction to the UK-made ACDs.
Then there's going with a larger filter to get both better flow & more dirt-holding capacity. For comparison, the "OE" ACDelco PF53 is 2.98" wide by 3.42" long & has a bypass valve set to 12-15 psi. The wider "Original OE" PF13 (for the C900) is 3.65" wide by 3.79" long & also has a bypass valve set to 12-15 psi. (ACDelco told me it holds nearly 50% more dirt than the PF53.) I don't believe you can go with a wider filter on the 9000, but I've been told that the longer PFL400A is another over-sized option. It's the same 2.98" wide but is 4.77" long & it also has the same bypass valve setting of 12-15 psi. This information is from Purolator's catalogue though, not ACDelco's.
The M1 filter seems to be too restrictive, while the K&N relies too much on marketing jargon & not enough data for my tastes.
