9-3 SS aero vs viggen & 98 SET

My brother & his new wife just purchased a 2004 9-3 aero. I took it for a spin today & I was very pleased with how the car felt! MUCH better steering feel then my viggen & the chassis seemed to be much more rigid, more like my C900-SPG's :o)

I asked my brother how he though their aero handled compared to his 98 SET which has intrax/koni's & he stated his SET feels MUCH better. It's hard to compare due to the sticky Pzero Nero's on the aero vs his old all season toyo FZ-4's however he felt his old car is much better in that area. The aero feels great & stays pretty flat through the turns & I am sure the sticky tires help a LOT! Unfortunantly I wasn't really able to drive it much so it was hard for me to compare it to my stock viggen. Ride is a little softer but still a somewhat firm ride which is a good thing for me :o)

Power was descent but not the torque of the viggen. However the lack of torque steer & tramlining was very nice! Also the 6spd trans felt really good to!

So presently these are the saabs my family owns

Parents - 1999 9-3 convert
brother - 98 SET, 86 900s (our 1st saab-had it since new) & their new aero
me - 2K viggen, 2 88 SPG's 1 of which will be parted out :o(
