Now I did say it was an older 911 (probably from the mid 70's), but it looked to be in ok condition.
I know he was trying 100%, because he was attempting to overtake me when we started the race (and we went on to go 100 MPH+). He was approaching me from behind and pulled out to overtake, the road was deserted so I punched it and pulled away. No surprise there, as the old 911's are pretty slow compared to more modern cars, and the 9000 "Ex-LPT" is faster than a stock Aero.
As for handling, I have S-03 PP tires, yellow Koni shocks and H&R lowering springs, which all make quite a difference, especially if the 911 was stock. Again, you can say all you want, but I know he was trying hard. I'm not boasting though (beating a ~30 year old car is not much to boast about, except if it had been an RS), just giving my opinion.
Newer 911s are nice, but as Street says, I would still rather have my Saab. If I were to get a new 911, I would sell it, upgrade the 9000 to ~400Hp (or maybe replace it with an upgraded 9k Aero), buy a Lotus Elise as a second car, and I would still have plenty money left.
