Yeah, I completely removed it. Plugged the supply hose and replaced the plastic grommet on the intake manifold with a brass one. I had to adjust the idle setting so that it ran at around 850. When I first start it, it idles pretty rough, but that goes away within a couple of minutes. It's espically bad when it's cold outside, but just like Jak said, you can fiddle with the gas pedal and make it go away. My AIC valve was comletely shot, though. It would stick open and the engine would idle at 2500. That made driving it in stop-and-go traffic very hard. That and everyone thought I was trying to race them...
I'd recommend it if you're tired of dealing with a sticking AIC. It doesn't bother me that I have to modulate the gas pedal while it's warming up.
