K&N oil filters

I bought 2 K&N oil filters to compare, this is what I found

K&N HP 2004 weights 1.2 lb
Pure One PL 14670 weighs .9 lb
These are both the same size and will both fit
c900 and 9000. The K&N looks and feels superior.

K&N HP 1002 weights .8 lb
Saab 9144445 weights .7 lb
These are both the same size also
As you can probably see by the weight they are both
smaller than the first 2. Again the K&N looks and feels superior.

Mann 712/38 weights .7
This filter is about .25 " shorter than the K&N 1002 and
the Saab.

Prices at Pep Boys
Both K&N 9.99 US
Pure One 5.99 US
Don't know what the Saab and Mann cost they have been on the
shelf for sometime.

The K&N has a inner filter that traps contaminants as small as
10 - 20 microns, low pressure drop flows at 12-16 GPM, resin - impregnated filter media, anti drainback valve.

Pure One has micronic filtration, anti drainback valve.

I would like to cut them open to see the inside, but I will leave that
up to someone else.
