There now are legitimate big brake kits available for our c900's. The kit I bought was designed to fit under the Aero and Super Aero 16" wheels. My kit consists of a two piece rotors that are 305mm(12") x 31.75mm(1.25"), Wilwood Forged Dynalite 4 piston calipers, stainless brake lines, choice of pads, and mounting hardware.

The increased rotor diameter leverage, caliper clamping force, and pad friction make for a significant daily driving improvement because of the decreased pedal effort required to stop the car. On the track, the 31.75mm(1.25")thick rotor works great as a massive heat sink. With race pads, I have had zero brake fade so far on the track. The pads I chose for daily driving are the Wilwood Polymatrix D compounds pads. Their friction coefficient at temperature is almost .50 I believe. The bottom line being that the grip they provide is addicting. For the track I am using the Hawk Blue compound. This pad has even higher friction but cannot be used on the street. If I could use pads like these all the time I would.

A question was always asked of me by many club racers at some of the local shops. Instead of being interested in my engine upgrades when I talked about going to the track, they always wanted to know "what have you done with the brakes". I would say "nothing", but I have done these engine upgrades. They would always say "Oh really", look at my engine and then say, "you probably better check into those brakes". I never really understood how inadequate the stock system was until I did some autocrossing on fast courses and a driving school on the track.

I would recommend this upgrade for daily driver and track cars for the significant improvement it makes in braking efficiency. Scanwest in Seattle is the place to get the kits.
