The only real way is to get a dvm on the O2, but sometimes that does not even get your car to run just right (idle and low end). I have found it takes the good old "set it and drive it". Now based on my a\f guage-to high and it sticks at 2 bars rich. I then just adjust amm down until it starts to sweep and no more. Some cars will not even respond to this-thus the resistor is then added. I guess I have been lucky on my 88.
