yes, that is where I have noticed the biggest improvement actually. At speed the feel is very close to a power-assisted car, where before you could tell even at speed that it was not normal. It liked to jerk around over road irregularities and could be difficult to correct at speed, particularly when turning and shifting simultaneously. Now it gives me very nice feedback while cruising but is also manageable with one hand/arm while turning and downshifting.
It sounds like the feel was very similar (stiff!) with just removing the belt vs. removing all hoses and the pump.
Of course there are the side benefits of less weight, no leaks, and a less cluttered engine compartment...
