the block is bored to 2.1 liters, bottom end guts balanced, flywheel lightened, ported newgen 900 head, teeny weeny Mitsu te05 turbo, volvo jetronic stuff, stock EZK ignition with turbo vac capsule (for now), front mount intercooler made of two c900 cores, 4-speed 99 gearbox, etc.

rear axle upgraded to run the newer brakes and, while i'm not a big fan of the 9k front caliper upgrade, i found a nearly brand new set at the junkyard for 7 dollars each (and i want to track the car), so they'll go on -- i like the concept of paying 40 bucks for a set of calipers, pads, and rotors. i am running group9 stainless brake lines. 40 bucks for a set of used bilsteins.

when the $$ is available, i'll get some 15x8 rims; i found some that weigh around 12 pounds for about 150 each.

once the car is back together, i'll have the rear axle bent for more camber. i made my own polyurethane lower control arm bushings out of swaybar end bushings, and will be replacing some of the rear bushings with d.i.y. plastic stuff.

in the future: the hood is going bye-bye -- going to make my own out of fiberglass. battery is going away, too -- found one that weighs 13 pounds and costs 70 bucks. original bumpers are going away -- 88 and newer style is a third lighter. seats are going away when i get the $$ for decent ones. exhaust system to be replaced with better downpipe & prolly w/supertrapp with side exit.

will it be competitive? who knows. i would run against lots of nationally competitive drivers; without a LSD, i don't think i can do it. but i do fine for myself in my daily driver (won my class last weekend), i have a good time, and i am learning tons while doing the project, so it's all good...
