Howdy OG 900 folks!

I've been reading, reading, reading, and reading about turbos on the performance board here on Saabnet.....

Ack... this is surprisingly complicated.

Lots of folks, Wassaab, KevinK, and others seem to have good things to say about turbochargers.com Mitsu TE-05 with the 16g wheel and the texas monster thrust bearing. It's $870, incl. shipping, which is pretty steep (plus the cost of install). FWIW, I'm not going to get Brad's downpipe yet cuz I can't drop that much money at one shot.

I've got a stock Garrett t3 on my '88 SPG that is currently on life support (other relevant mods are: SPG9 stage2, 24lb injectors, 3.0bar fpr, aquamist system, brad's vda, GFB BOV).

I'd like something that boosts quickly and perhaps will pull a little stronger off the line than I'm getting w/ the Garrett.

Some folks seem to be keen on the Garrett GT series or a G3-60, others on the te05 mentioned above, and a couple of folks seem interested in the td04. Some folks have suggested that the te05 is too small and loses efficiency cuz it gets too hot. However, not sure if that's taking into account the 16g wheel. Does having the big wheel improve the efficiency?

I'd love to hear what people say about their personal experiences with upgraded turbos. What turbo? From where? How much $? How much power are you pushing? What's the lag like? What turbo did you have? What mods?

Thanks for your input!
