You can get a large JR filter that replaces the whole air box. Thats your least resistance cold air intake. Facing backwards... not an issue and that can avoid some sand/spray intake.
MPperformance will soon have a IC to TB intake tube... may not clear the vac assistance pump on automatics. (Will fit all T7s.)
As other upgrades are made, the 'weak link' in the system shifts around. For better boost response*, a focus on the intake helps. As boost and HP is increased, the IC and IC-TB pipes become limitations. Once should not judge these things in isolation, but in the context of other mods inplace and planned.
* The best boost response in a T7 requires a SMBC to avoid boost controller turbo delay. With a SMBC properly adjusted, the turbo's own spool up rate (turbo lag) is obtained and then changes to the intake system are readily evident instead of been masked in the controller induced boost delay.
