...but I'm biased because I have one. Now, I've never done a controlled test and measured any of the variables that a larger downpipe will affect on a heat engine. Undoubtedly though, the sheer increase in flow area between OEM and JT has to make a big difference in exhaust gas temperatures. So, even if it produces marginal increase in 'performance', the benefits of having an engine that operates at lower temperatures more than compensate, in the long run, eh? And $750 sounds like a lot to me - I haven't heard that much talk of inflation - unless one wants to talk about oil prices. I bought both my JT and a cat' for a little over $300, IIRC. Price the OEM downpipe - see how much that costs! The JT and the OEM are both made of the same material - when was the last time you heard of someone with a saab needing a new downpipe? The only thing that tends to fail is what failed on yours - the flex section. All engineering materials have both good and bad aspects, and one has to consider the target market of everything that's being produced. Unless the JT has skyrocketed in price from what I paid a few years ago, then I would say that the JT was one of the best things I've done to my 9000. And if I bought another 9000 to decrease the amount of miles I'm putting on the present one, the first thing I'd do would be a JT downpipe.
