I'm just getting started with the performance mods, but we have the same car, so maybe we can help each other. I'm trying to upgrade stuff as I do routine maintenance, within budgetary limits.
First step is to see what's out there. Check out Group 9 Performance (site sponsor), they have lots of stuff that'll probably make your mouth water. I just got some stainless steel brake hoses from them.
I believe the different stages in the apc are based upon the different mods you've done to the car. If they just sold stage 3, you'd have to do like $5k in mods to achieve the results it's designed for. Think of it like Windows 95, 98, and XP for your car--same concept.
"rrfpr" = rising rate fuel pressure regulator. One mod that I'm looking forward to, as it helps manage your fuel better and will probably (initially) help your gas mileage.
I've never heard of using an upgraded AMM, but I'm nowhere near an expert. I only know what I've read, and there's never been a mention of a new AMM. It's just a kind of sensor anyway, so I'm thinking that the APC just takes the readings and goes from there.
Hope this helps.
