C/D rotors with Deluxe Pads

Hi,
I just replaces all rotors with Zimmerman C/ds and used Deluxe Pads on my beloved 96 9000 Aero. Now I read on the 9000 board that this is a Bad combo. Braking is not as good and pads wear out way too soon. I do not drive on the track but am somewhat agressive on street driving. I just want the best stopping I can get for street. They seem to brake OK but should I consider replacing them with flat rotors and a different pad ? I don'r want to say cost isn't an option but if I need to I will replace both rotors and pads. Thanks ahead for any advice.
