GT series, old vs new Posted by Kevin K [Email] (#374) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Kevin K) on Wed, 2 Jun 2004 12:00:55 In Reply to: Re: GT series ..., GM, Wed, 2 Jun 2004 06:53:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The old "GT" series was based mostly on a ball bearing center section, using existing cold ends and some upgraded hot ends. Ray Hall chart is from an old Garrett website. His GT30's are T3/TO4S hybrid based, and GT25's are T25/T4 hybrid based. For more response, look into a tO4B cold end, vs 500 hp to4s.
With new GT series (link), no common numbers for ball bearing vs journel bearing types ( ie, no GT30R and GT30 pair ). New GT25R has cold end smaller than a T3.
The new GT28RS is most updated T3 cold and T25 hot ends, with internal wg.
