I drove my 91 900T with 145,000 miles from Chicago to Tampa Florida, straight through. No problems. Then a few months later went from Chicago to Myrtle Beach SC, with only a few issues. Myrtle Beach was in the hot summer, and I don't think I will do that again. I found out my A/C didn't work (which I fixed afterwards), and when I get stuck in heavy traffic and a lot of heat, the ABS and I think Brake Fluid lights come on. I was told that means the power brakes might give up until the car cools down, I never noticed it though. The engine wasn't really running hot, but the fan was running quite a bit. I'd have to pull over and pop the hood for about 15 minutes to cool it down, though. It wouldn't have been a problem, but an overturned semi delayed us for 3 hours and we only moved about 15 miles. During those 3 hours I think I had to pull over 3-4 times. Eventually, I just popped the hood half-way and sat in traffic with an even stranger looking Saab.:) Since it only happens in extreme traffic and heat, I don't think I'll spend more money to fix this, though. It did make me nervous that something would just break and I'd be stuck.
This fall or spring (when it's cooler out), I might drive from Chicago to Oregon, but I haven't decided if it's a good idea. It is a lot of fun driving a Saab cross-country, though. More fun than any other car I've owned or driven.
