i wouldn't reuse the cluster gear if you are going to rebuild. i had the same thing happen, i chipped one tooth off third and quit driving it. i tore the tranny down and replaced third gear but didn't replace the cluster gear because it looked fine. well it wasn't and i tore every tooth off of 3rd after the rebuild. i would find a good used one and rebuild it.
