Easy install, takes 15 min. The idle surged up and down for 5 minutes while the car was adapting to the ECU or vice versa. Rev were going up to 3000rpm and staying there in between shifts for a little while. Then I shut the car off, unplugged the battery, regapped the plugs at .85mm and restarted: Everything was fine after. This is normal but a little scary if you don't know the ECU has to learn. NOW THE FUN STARTS:
BOOST all the way to 1/3 in the red in 2nd up to 6300rpm to the rev limiter. Now that's the kind of take off I was dreaming of, gotta get a Gtech to put some #'s on that feeling. Anyone with a Gtech in Ct?
BOOST 2/3rd in the red in 3rd to 5th gear on a flat highway. Boost doesn't tapper down if I keep my foot in but there's not much time to look at the gauges when the car goes like hell.
Going up hill in 4th and 5th the boost gauge was about 3/4 in the red when i nailed it from 2000rpm or so. Did that a couple times to let the ECU learn.
Rev limiter is set at 6300rpm in 3rd gear as well. I've reached ~112 in 4th in an area I was never able to get more than 105 before hitting the brakes.
Part throttle pick-up didn't change much but full throttle midrange to high rpm is a great improvment. The car picks-up speed faster and keeps a very good driveability for everyday use with the family.
I'm not taking full advantage of the ECU since I haven't installed the 3"
downpipe yet, but the car feels almost as fast as my 9.5 Aero now. There's still less Torque than in the AERO though.
the shift up light is still there... I got to find that wire.
I'll post my comments as soon as I install the downpipe.
Jak, thanks for coming though with the ECU and the downpipe. I couldn't be happier with your excellent service and response. Keep on the good work.
